ABOUT
I'm Amy — a writer, story producer, and editor based in Brooklyn.
When I was born in 1991, the #1 song in America was Paula Abdul's "Rush Rush." There's a line I like: "Here's my story, and the story goes." In that spirit, I earned an MFA in Narrative Nonfiction from the University of Georgia, a BA in Literature from Bard College, got permanently addicted to radio while studying at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies, and started out in public television at WGBH. Now I report, write, and produce longform narrative stories for lots of places & folks.
Recently, I spent about a year reporting on a traveling abortion physician from Tennessee in the aftermath of Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization.
I've made a lot of radio — narrative and investigative limited series, episodic character-driven documentaries, daily news segments, and memorable standalone interviews. For over a decade, I've written, reported, edited, or produced stories and series for places like Serial Productions & The New York Times, Vox, ABC, The Boston Globe & The Spotlight Team, Axios, Gimlet Media, Campside Media & Apple TV+, WBUR, VICE, Teen Vogue, and others.
My work and collaborations at both local and national news outlets have won a regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Innovation, an AIPS Sports Media Award, and a Dart Award, among others. In 2020-21, I was part of the team behind The Improvement Association from Serial Productions. The show was nominated for a Peabody Award.
